First off, say hello to a more advanced and futuristic way of generating your cloud insights with our brand-new Auto-Generated Insight Report here at Octo! Now in beta, creating your reports - whether quarterly or annually - has never been easier. These generated reports will be based on predefined design templates, making them straightforward and easy to understand for everyone.
Here’s the catch! This new Auto-Generated Insight Report is packed with features that make generating your reports a breeze.
- Pick your Perfect Report Time: Choose between quarterly or annually for your report generation interval, whatever suits your needs! And guess what? A monthly option is on the horizon.
- Cloud Cost Detective: This section gives you a detailed analysis of the cloud cost usage of each cost group during the period. It serves up a clear visual of how each group is spending and delivers all the juicy details you need on costs!
- Optimization Power-Up: See how your optimization efforts stack up with our Optimization Execution Analysis section. Find out which initiatives were MVPs in saving you time and money!
- Future-Proof Your Cloud (Coming Soon): Get ready for Next Period Optimization Proposals which will give you tips to make your next period even more efficient.

Say Hello to the Sleek “Create Cost Group” in its Alpha Stage!
Introducing the super intuitive “Create Cost Group” feature that is now on its alpha version. Selected users can try it out on their Octo, and we are actively tweaking it and improving it based on your feedback for an upcoming beta release.
Want to create a cost group?
Just flip the toggle switch at the top right of the screen and you are good to go!
A More Fabulous Quick Selection Period
The ‘Quick Selection Period’ here at Octo just got even better! Now, we have added a Quarter option, making it easier for our users to specify dates with just a simple click. Quick and hassle-free!
Unit Cost in Alpha
Hold your horses, because we’re rolling out another exciting new feature here at Octo! This one’s still in its Alpha version, so it’s definitely worth your attention. Introducing Unit Cost—now you can easily assign costs to specific units in your business by manually setting percentages. It’s the feature to start fine-tuning your cost distribution. But don’t forget, it’s still a work in progress, so stay tuned for the awesome improvements coming your way!
Group By…TAGS!
This new filter lets you track cloud spending by grouping your costs based on tags like projects or environments. When you select a tag key (e.g., ‘env’), the related data is grouped accordingly. Untagged values are labeled as ‘untagged’. Currently, it supports AWS and GCP, with Azure support coming soon!

Nailing your cloud resource management is the secret sauce to keeping costs in check and your performance at its peak! That is why we added these recommendations to supercharge your cloud setup with smart tips, save you money, boost performance, and make managing resources a breeze.
