The new Unit Cost version is designed to simplify budgeting and financial planning, enabling organizations to see precisely where their money is going. With this update, users can effortlessly compare various metrics across unit items, providing a crystal-clear view of their spending.

🥈Multi-Currency Display

Up next is the Multi-Currency Display feature in Octo, designed to enhance your reports! With this feature, you can effortlessly view costs in various currencies. A simple click allows you to switch currencies in your Fixed Reports, instantly updating all cost-related widgets. Seamlessly transition from dollars to yen and other currencies in no time, with more currencies to be added in the future.

This feature is a game-changer for companies operating in multiple countries, making it incredibly easy for stakeholders to view insights in their preferred currency. Additionally, it enhances your financial reporting capabilities, enabling you to identify cost patterns and trends with professional precision.

🥉Group by: Tagged

Get ready for the third feature on our list—introducing the new “Group By Tagged” filter! With just a few clicks, you can now get a clear breakdown of costs between tagged and untagged resources. This feature sharpens your view of cloud spending, making it easy to spot untagged resources and add the right tags to keep costs in check. Say hello to smarter cloud management!

But that’s not all! 

This filter works effortlessly across the big three cloud providers—AWS, GCP, and Azure—so no matter your choice, you can easily pinpoint and manage your resources like a pro.

Onboarding Version 2

We've revamped Octo's onboarding flow to make it easier and more enjoyable than ever. With user feedback at the heart of this update, we're focused on keeping things simple, friendly, and seamless, ensuring new users can set up and dive into Octo effortlessly.

Faster Loading Time in the Unit Cost Visualization!

Users can now enjoy a 75% to 80% reduction in loading time for viewing charts in Unit Cost. Previously taking around 48 seconds, the implementation of caching has cut this down to just 10 seconds.

Recommendations: Change EC2 Instance Type from Intel to AMD

We’ve given your Amazon EC2 instances a boost by upgrading them to a newer, faster, and more efficient type to keep Octo running smoothly and meet your performance needs! Using our own special criteria (no outside help needed!), our team crafted custom recommendations for migration and architectural changes.

Here’s the best part: our system now identifies instances that would benefit from newer generations or different instance families. 

This upgrade not only boosts performance but also maximizes resource efficiency and lowers costs, potentially saving you 10% to 25% on your total instance expenses!

Bug Fixes and Improvement Highlights

And lastly, we’ve tidied up some pesky buys and polished things up to give you an even smoother, more user friendly Octo experience.

Here are the highlights of what’s been improved:

  • Optimization Recommendations: Tweaked the design and removed that bottom margin for a cleaner look.
  • Cost Group - Discount Plan: Spruced up the discount plan charts to make them even better.
  • Core: Updated translations for a more seamless feel.
  • Unit Cost: Fixed the unit cost validation logic for accuracy.
